The Smart Start Financial Education Curriculum is a Standards of Learning based curriculum that incorporates all 15 Senate Economics Education and Financial Literacy objectives into just five 60-90 minute lessons. 

These lessons are relevant to teenagers’ lives and challenge them to think about their current and future financial well-being. The five lessons include hands-on activities and have a technology component:

• Making the Most of Your Money (budgeting, credit cards and saving)
• Careers (careers and taxes)
• What a Ride!  (smart car buying and financing)
• Home Sweet Home (renting vs. buying)
• What’s Your Story?  (inheritance and investing)

Lunch and free parking for teachers attending the training will be provided compliments of Virginia Credit Union.
